Quinte West

Quinte West is a vibrant waterfront community and the home of CFB Trenton, the hub of air transport operations in Canada.  As Canada’s largest air force base, it also serves as the region’s biggest employer. The base brings a diverse, connected population and supports families through numerous resources, recreation facilities, and community programs, many of which are accessible to the public.

Situated along the Bay of Quinte and the Trent River, Trenton is known as the Walleye Capital of Ontario. Hanna Park is a 42-acre park located near downtown, featuring marked nature trails, tennis courts, a children’s play area, and an off-leash dog park. The Trent River runs through Trenton, and forms a significant part of the Trent-Severn Waterway, extending from the Bay of Quinte at the south end of the city, northwest to Georgian Bay, via a series of lakes, rivers, and canals. The east side of the river is predominantly spread around CFB Trenton, in addition to commercial plazas on the south and north sides. Housing offers a mix of affordable older homes and newer family-oriented subdivisions on the north side that benefit from its proximity to the Base and schools. The west side of the river includes the downtown core and low-rise rental buildings while a number of newer neighbourhoods have developed over the past ten years on the far west side of the city.
